MORTIS MADONNA | Lost Mother

A handcrafted concrete Madonna sculpture as a contemporary art object about loss, distance, and the absence of protection.

The familiar form of the Madonna remains recognizable but appears altered. Reduced interventions shift the figure from religious symbolism to a quiet exploration of memory, closeness, and what remains.

She seems to be searching for something that is no longer there.

The surface is intentionally kept raw. Traces, marks, and irregularities are not decoration but part of the work. They do not completely transform the figure but create a subtle tension between the familiar and loss.

LOST MOTHER does not comfort. The sculpture remains silent, leaving the meaning to the viewer's gaze.
